History Martin was born in Bradford, England, and emigrated to South Africa with his parents at the age of 6. He underwent his schooling in Cape Town, and graduated from Cape Town University with a BSc in Chemical Engineering. He returned to the UK at the end of his studies, where he held various engineering management roles. In 2004 Martin emigrated to New Zealand with his wife and 2 children.

Interests From an early age Martin has had a fascination with artwork and has used this skill throughout his career as an effective communication tool. He has accumulated a wealth of personal experience using illustrations both technically (for example, plant layouts and pipework isometrics), and for less tangible concepts, such as change management, communicating the future vision, and explaining procedures and responsibilities. He believes that illustrations are a powerful and innovative medium for capturing important concepts, messages, and experiences. In addition to this, Martin regularly uses humorous illustrations to capture the funny side of life !

About Martin
